Volunteering FAQ

Is there a time commitment to volunteer?

For in-House volunteering we ask for a one year commitment at both Houses, with at least two shifts per month at the Westmoreland House and 12 hours per month at the House Within The Hospital or Family Room.

How old do I have to be to volunteer?

To volunteer at our Westmoreland House you must be at least 16 years of age or be accompanied by an adult.

To volunteer at our House Within The Hospital or the Family Room you must be at least 18 years of age.

Can I volunteer around my work schedule?

Yes. Many volunteers are working professionals. We ask for a time commitment in order to ensure volunteers are properly trained. Administrative volunteers may work during business hours, while fundraising event volunteers can select specific days and times based on event needs. We strive to be as flexible as possible to make volunteering easier.
